Job description
About the role
A well-run property management company is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a portfolio of multifamily buildings on the North Shore. You'll be the go-to for keeping residents' homes safe, comfortable, and well-maintained — with a company truck, a tool allowance, and a manager who actually backs the maintenance team.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues across the portfolio
- Complete unit turns end to end: drywall, paint, fixtures, flooring, and punch lists
- Respond to resident work orders promptly and within published SLAs
- Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, common areas, and grounds
- Handle seasonal work — heating prep, snow and ice management, irrigation start-up and shutdown
- Participate in a paid on-call rotation (roughly one week in five) for after-hours emergencies
- Coordinate with outside vendors on larger jobs and inspections
- Keep accurate work-order and parts records in the property management system
Pay & benefits
- $58,000–$68,000 annualized; overtime-eligible hourly role with paid on-call
- Company truck and an annual tool allowance
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage and a 401(k) with match
- Employer-paid certifications and a genuine path to Lead Technician
Requirements
Must-haves
- 3+ years of hands-on building or multifamily maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Able to lift 50 lbs, climb and work from ladders, and stay on your feet
- Reliable and comfortable working independently across multiple properties
Nice to have
- HVAC / EPA 608 certification (or willingness to obtain — employer-paid)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or similar
- Drywall and finish-carpentry skills
- Experience with a property management / work-order system (Yardi, AppFolio, or similar)
